“To the left on the shore of the lagoon, we can see the English consul’s properties, from which the koubba dome stands out. It is an easily recognisable place due to the plantation of young eucalyptus trees; the place is charming. Further still on the road to Mateur is a military garrison with four doors and steel columns.
On Point Sebra is Couvreux’ house which we’ve already mentioned. From its terrace which you access via a steel stairwell supported on the wall is a pretty view over the bay, the city, the start of the canal and the interior lagoon with the tank. In the back, the mountains seem to flicker.
On the edge of Sebra Point is a lighthouse built in 1895, lighting the way.”
