Paxos y Antipaxos

“After olive harvests, the most important industry on Paxos are the quarries where a large number of the island’s inhabitants work and have made the islands famous. Here, for example, we see an oven to burn the lime.

   

Salt is only gathered for private use; most is imported from Saint Maura. Girls from Paxos carry clay jars full of salt water to their homes where they let the water evaporate in small, old recipients or troughs to later gather the salt.“
