Lo que dice el Arxiduc:

“Small and seemingly unimportant, Paxos ( Paxi) and Antipaxos ( Antipaxi) have never been described for their own sake, only as an annex to the beautiful and larger nearby island of Corfu. However, these two islands are full of natural beauty which merit greater appreciation by the many foreigners who visit the other Ionian Islands.

I shall attempt to do this in both words and images, and if many of you come to these dear islands and spend some time with their affable and friendly inhabitants, then this book will have fulfilled its purpose.”

Datos proyecto Nixe III:

The perception that Paxos and Antipaxos are small and unimportant has been maintained over time. For example, we were told on Paxos that people in Greece didn’t generally know where the islands were when people talked about them. However, this has changed slightly over the last few years when a well-known TV series was filmed precisely on Paxos. Greeks can now place the islands better.

When nearing by sea and sailing around the area, we realized, in effect, that the islands seem a bit lost between Corfu and Levkada and can even be missed altogether by uninformed sailors.

And, yes, we should thank the Archduke for describing the beauty of these islands in his work, islands we were able to visit retracing his footsteps. And so, Archduke, mission accomplished! Your book fulfilled its purpose. In addition, the inhabitants of Paxos heeded the Archduke’s advise and have successfully preserved the islands like few others we have seen throughout the Mediterranean. Congratulations to them as well! We hope our work serves to encourage this even more.
