Lo que dice el Arxiduc:

“As is understandable, the climate here is similar to that on Zante ( Zakynthos) which is nearby. No continuous meteorological studies have been carried out on Ithaca. I was able to observe that the climate is a bit cooler here in general because Mount Mavrovouni is often covered in snow as is the snowy peninsula. However, on days with strong winds from the northeast and east, the island is not as cold because it is more protected and not as affected by the force of the gulf as occurs with Zante ( Zakynthos).
Not only is the inner port of Ithaca protected from the wind and waves: the entire island is also kept safe from the vigorous winds. To the west and southwest, the strong wall of Kefalonia ( Cephalonia) rises up with old Mount Aenos, the tallest mountain in the Ionian Islands and protecting Ithaca in winter from the western and south-western winds. To the north is Saint Maura which keeps out the winds from the north; to the south is the Morea coast, and its proximity to the peninsula protects it against the strong winds from the east which hit Zante ( Zakynthos) with such force. There is only no protection against the winds from the northwest, but these only blow a few hours in winter.”

In general, the climate on the Ionian Islands is mild. In addition, Ithaca’s geographic location between Kefalonia (Cephalonia) and mainland Greece offers great protection against the winds, especially those racing across Cephalonia. That notwithstanding, some locals indicate that it can get quite cold at some points in the winter due to the influence of the snowy mountains such as Pindos.

In summer, the thermal winds generally accumulate every day and can be quite surprising. Specifically, the thermal winds are very strong and uncomfortable in Vathy Bay. They can blow with a wind force factor of up to six and continue blowing until eight or nine at night. It is a true challenge when attempting to moor or dock boats.
