1822 – Occupied by the Ottomans under the Albanese Ali Pasha who bought it that same year from the English
1913 – Belongs to the Kingdom of Greece

Parga rejoined the kingdom of Greece at the start of the 20th century. Tradition has it that the Greeks who had to abandon the city before, the majority exiled to the Ionian Islands, returned with the bones of their ancestors to bury them in Parga’s cemeteries. They also brought back with them all the icons from the numerous churches in the area and which we can admire in the museum attached to the Cathedral.
Today, Parga is primarily dedicated to tourism, with little heavy industry and only some agricultural activity in the nearby surroundings.
