Lo que dice el Arxiduc:

“Grapes were grown up high in ancient times, forming pretty landscapes and making for a fairly good wine. A part was exported to nearby islands. Grapevines could reach amazing heights in just a few decades in this terribly privileged country. 25 or 30-year-old vines looked as if they were 50 or 60.

Grapes are no longer harvested in Parga, Rapeza or Aya. Only occasionally do you see them in gardens, and their fruits are used for food. There are still some grapevines – approximately 100 total – that produce very good black grapes. Grapes are not usually dried in Parga.”

Datos proyecto Nixe III:

The city’s primary crop and that of the surroundings is still olive trees (Olea europaea L. var. europaea), covering vast extensions of land and forming true forests.

In terms of the citrus fruits and grapes for wine-making the Archduke mentioned, their production continues to fall, and they are primarily grown for people’s own consumption in gardens or plots of land around houses.
