In terms of landscapes, we should highlight the group of small islands to the east of Levkada Island. Their lush vegetation surprised us, while their small coves, one after another, are very attractive. There has also been very little construction on them.
The strait between Levkada Island and mainland Greece, beginning from Santa Maura citadel and reaching the first islands to the east of Levkada, is fantastic.
Lastly, we were also surprised by the wealth of landscapes we found in the island’s interior. The views of valleys and mountains, the interior, the coasts, of other islands and of continental Greece are beautiful.
In general, the landscapes we found were well preserved, the exception being some tourist resorts built in keeping with mass tourism trends. However, the latter are limited to very specific areas along the coast.
