Archduk :: :: mistaken for one of his servants

“On one occasion, the Archduke and his secretary Antonio Vives arrived at a hotel to spend the night. The Archduke, whom the hotel director had mistaken for one of his servants, requested two rooms. When the hotel director said that only one room was reserved, the Archduke asked him to put two beds in the room.

‘Are you sure that His Highness will want to sleep with you in the same room?’ asked the director.

The Archduke, please to see that he not been recognised, replied as follows, as if it were the most natural thing in the world:

‘Yes, he will. On other occasions we have shared a room.’”
