Like in the rest of the Mediterranean, we see a clear drop in traditional economic activities. Here, however, grapes for winemaking are still an important crop as are the well-known lentils from Englouvi.
Fishing is a residual activity today, though some continue to fish, especially near the lagoons close to the city of Levkada.
